Bogie has worked extensively as a session and touring musician, playing clarinet, tenor/bari/alto sax, flute, bass harmonica, chromatic jaw harps, percussion and the occasional keyboard instrument. Often sessions flow between arranging and performing, and much of what winds up on records involves collaboration with the producer and the featured artists. This is one of the joys of working as a session musician.

His live performing resume includes work with Arcade Fire, Iron and Wine, Public Enemy, Paul Simon, My Morning Jacket, TV on the Radio, Antibalas, Phish, Sway Machinery, Glen Hansard, Barry Gibb, Dr. Dog, Rod Stewart, The Roots, Chic, Gomez, Butch Morris, Alabama Shakes, tUnE-yArDs, Matana Roberts, the Wu Tang Clan and Kronos Quartet.

He has appeared on television at home and abroad including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Dave Letterman Show, The Colbert Report, Jimmy Kimmel, Jules Holland, Conan and public access. Musical travels have taken him to shows around the globe, from the Fujirock Festival in Japan, to the Festival of the Desert in Timbuktu, Mali.

He has recorded with Arcade Fire, Iron and Wine, TV on the Radio, Antibalas, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Angelique Kidjo, Sharon Van Etten, Holly Miranda, Luluc, Madeski Martin and Wood, Passion Pit, Foals, Amadou and Miriam, Gomez, DJ Logic, Dennis Ferrer, St. Vincent, David Byrne, Bright Black Morning Light, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, tUnE-yArDs, Get Hustle, Autre Ne Veut, Craig Finn of the Hold Steady, Cass McCombs, Saul Williams, Dr. Dog, Kronos Quartet.

In 2010 he was the featured saxophone soloist in the Broadway musical Fela! which was nominated for 13 Tony awards including Best New Musical. Bogie worked closely with director/choreographer Bill T Jones and music director Aaron Johnson to develop the solos. He performed 5 improvised solos throughout the evening, playing over 300 shows that year.
